Chairman and Managing Director, L&T Finance Holdings
Y.M. Deosthalee has been the Chairman and Managing Director of L&T Finance Holdings since September 6, 2011. He is also chairman of the board of the L&T Mutual Fund Trustee Company, and non-executive director of L&T Finance Limited, L&T Infrastructure Finance Limited and L&T General Insurance Co. Ltd. Alongside, he is the non-executive chairman of L&T Infrastructure Developmental Projects. Mr Deosthalee is the founding director of L&Ts financial services business. Since the formation of L&T Finance in 1995, he has provided strategic direction and vision to the financial services group, and been responsible for its growth. Mr Deosthalee joined L&T in 1974 and held various positions at L&T offices across India. In March 1995, he becamea full-time director on the board of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) until his retirement on September 5, 2011.During his tenure as CFO with L&T, Mr Deosthalee was responsible for the finance &accounts function, enterprise-wide risk management and shared services. He also helped to build the business of L&T Infotech, on the board of which he is a director. Mr Deosthalee is currently a member of a committee set up by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to formulate a policy document on corporate governance. He is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a degree in law.
