Ian Greer
Managing Director, Infrastructure and Project Finance Ratings Asia Pacific, Standard & Poor's

Ian Greer is Regional Coordinator for Infrastructure Ratings at Standard & Poor's. He is responsible for developing Standard & Poor's capabilities and market presence in the Asia Pacific infrastructure arena. He also manages credit and risk training in the region. Mr Greer has been with Standard & Poor's for 13 years. He previously spent eight years as a project finance banker. He has been involved in many infrastructure financings covering debt capital markets and bank syndications -- mainly in Australia and New Zealand but also in Asia, Europe and North America. Before becoming a banker, he spent 11 years in the mining industry, gaining first-hand experience by establishing a gold mining project in West Africa. Mr Greer has a Bachelor's degree (honours) in Science from the University of Queensland and an MBA from Cranfield in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Management. Mr Greer is also Chair of the Australian Branch Council of the International Project Finance Association and is on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commissions Infrastructure Advisory Council.
