Lewis Alexander is a Counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, focusing on a range of domestic financial issues. Previously, Lewis was the Chief Economist of Citigroup. He worked for more than a decade at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, rising to the position of Deputy Director of the Division of International Finance. He also served as Chief Economist of the Department of Commerce from 1993-1996. He received his PhD in Economics from Yale University.
