Andrew Taylor
Managing Director, Macquarie Capital
Andrew Taylor is a Managing Director in Macquarie Capitals real estate division. His role is to develop property-based investments and investment products throughout Asia. He is also responsible for corporate advisory work for third party clients. Prior to joining Macquaries Capital division, he ran Macquarie Real Estate Asia, the groups property practice. In that role he sat on the board of Macquarie Goodman Asia, the industrial-focused fund manager and developer of property in Asia; Macquarie Wanda Real Estate Fund (MWREF), one of the first wholesale funds investing in core retail property in China; and Macquarie Pacific Star Prime REIT Management Limited (MPSP REIT), a Singapore REIT investing in retail and commercial office assets in prime locations across Asia. Since joining Macquarie in 2004, Mr Taylor has had significant involvement in the development and launch of MWREF, investing in core retail property in China. The development of this transaction included the first ever CMBS issue secured against a Chinese real estate portfolio. He was also involved in the creation of Macquarie Goodmans Hong Kong business and a Macau development business. Before joining Macquarie, Mr Taylor was Head of Real Estate Research for Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale, ABN Amro and BNP Paribas. He began his career with Jones Lang Wootton in Hong Kong in 1989. Mr Taylor has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and he is an Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
