K.S. Wong
Director of Sustainable Design, Ronald Lu & Partners

K.S. Wong has 20 years professional experience and specialises in integrating research and practice in the field of sustainable architecture and urban design. He is a Director of Ronald Lu & Partners, where he also serves as Director of Sustainable Design. Mr Wong has participated in a number of award-winning architectural projects and research works recognised locally and internationally. His more recent projects in Hong Kong include concept designs for the regeneration of the Yau Ma Tei "Yung Shu Tau" area (Banyan Street Square, a cultural district in Kowloon) and the Ma Tau Kok waterfront area; and the master layout plan for urban renewal in Graham and Peel Streets (the site of the oldest open air street market on Hong Kong Island). Consultancy research includes an urban climatic map for Hong Kong, building design guidelines that address the urban heat island (UHI) effect and air ventilation (AVA) concerns in dense urban areas of Hong Kong; and the interim upgrade of BEAM, Hong Kong's building environmental assessment method. Mr Wong currently serves as Chairman of the Professional Green Building Council and Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). He was also the founding chairman of the HKIA Committee on Environment & Sustainable Development, and is on the founding board to establish the Hong Kong Green Building Council in 2009. He also teaches at various local universities on an adjunct basis.
