Albert Chan
Director of Planning and Development, Shui On Land
K.B. Albert Chan has 25 years' experience in planning, design and real estate development, including 10 years in China. Mr Chan is currently Director of Planning and Development at Shui On Land, a public company listed in Hong Kong and headquartered in Shanghai. He is responsible for the conceptualisation, positioning and master-planning of large scale developments by the company. From 1997 to 2001, he led the overall planning and design effort for Shanghai Xintiandi, an adaptive re-use development widely regarded as a landmark in China. His previous responsibilities in Shui On include the overall management of The Lakeville at Xintiandi residential development in Shanghai, and the master-planning of over 20 million square meters of large scale mixed-use community developments in various cities in China. Prior to joining Shui On, Mr Chan was a Project Director at the New York City Department of Design and Construction. He has also previously worked at Cooper, Robertson + Partners in New York. Mr Chan has an M.S. in Urban Design from Columbia University, an M. Arch. from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from the Stern School at New York University. He is a Registered Architect of New York State.
