The Foundation for Effective Governance (FEG) was established in 2007 by Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov with the aim of improving people's lives by assisting policymakers and stakeholders to design and implement actionable public policy solutions. The main mission of the Foundation is to develop and implement long-term projects and programs that encourage Ukraine's sustainable economic development. By furthering public debates on the most important development challenges facing Ukraine, the FEG is committed to reach public and political consensus on the key areas of the economic reformation programs. To reach its objectives, the Foundation attracts leading Ukrainian and international experts with impeccable reputations. The Foundation for Effective Governance's management structure is based on world best practice. The International Advisory Board ensures the Foundation's independence and its strict dedication to its mission and principles. Besides that, the International Advisory Board participates in formulating the Foundation's strategy, helps setting projects' priorities, and represents the Foundation's interests in Ukraine and abroad. Among the board members are former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell, former U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, former president of the National Bank of Hungary György Surányi, and General Director of the Ukrainian office of the International Investment Bank Morgan Stanley, Igor Mityukov.
