Andriy Sadovyy
Mayor, City Council of Lviv
Andriy Sadovyy was born on the 19th of August, 1968 in Lviv, Ukraine.
He graduated from the Technical School of Radio Electronics in 1987. Andriy continued his education at the Lviv Polytechnic State University and received his degrees in Engineering and Economics in 1995 and 1997, respectively. Andriy received his Masters in Public Administration in 1999 from the National Academy of Public Administration.
In 1989, he began working for LvivPrylad Production Corporation where he was a Specialist on Electronics.
From 1992 to 1995, he was the Deputy Director of the Lviv branch of the Foundation of Social Adaptation of Youth under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. From 1997 to 2005, he was the Chairman and Head of the Board of PivdenZakhidElectromerezhBud OJSC. From 1997 to 2001, he was the Chairman of the Foundation of Lviv Region Development. From 1998 to 2002, he was the Deputy Head of the Economic Policy Commission of the Lviv City Council. From 2002 to 2003, he was the Director of the Institute of City Development.
In 2006, Andriy was elected Mayor of Lviv. He is also Chairman of TV@ Radio Company Lux CJSC and Leader of the NGO Samopomich.
He is a founder and a Head of the Board of the Institute of City Development (NGO). He is the Head of the Supervisory Council of Cultural Foundation named after Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyy (2000-2002) and a member of Council of the Ukrainian-Polish Union. In 2003 he was elected as the Deputy Head of the Bridges to East Institute (RP).
He is a member of political party Nasha Ukraina.
Andriy is married to Mrs. Kateryna Kit-Sadovyy and has four sons. He also speaks Polish and Russian.
