Ralph Judah
Senior Partner, Monitor Group

Ralph Judah is a Senior Partner of the Monitor Group and a member of its Executive Committee. He currently has responsibility for driving Monitor's expansion in Russia/CIS, India and the Middle East. He was previously Chairman of Monitor Africa and leader of Innovation Management Inc. (IMI), a member of Monitor Group specializing in the development, nurturing and management of innovation, and has just completed his term as a Director of the Group overall.

 

Judah was a Founding Partner of Bain Capital and Monitor Capital Partners, both substantial private equity operations. He is one of the most experienced consultants in the firm, with 30 years of strategy consulting experience in Oil and Gas, Shipping, IT, Mining, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Textiles and Fashion Products, Automotive, Transportation, Tourism, Private Equity, and public policy, among others. He has been the prime leader in the growth of Monitor's Developing Markets practices since joining the firm.

In the 1980s, Judah was a Partner at Bain and Company and led their manufacturing and healthcare practices. In the 1990s while at Monitor Group, Judah led much of the firm's global healthcare, mining and globalization work. He has led studies on institutional and research strategies for leading academic medical centers and integrated delivery networks, pharmaceutical companies, and national level strategies for a number of governments, particularly those in transition.

 

In South Africa, as a core advisor to the Mandela government, he led the work redefining the country's industrial development priorities, restructuring the post-apartheid national healthcare delivery, transportation, treasury, minerals policy and trade systems. He has been the Senior Adviser to South African Tourism for many years, and in that role led the development of the South African Strategy for the World Cup to be held there in 2010.
