Max Taylor
Chairman, Mitsui-Sumitomo Insurance London Companies and and Director, Qatarlyst
Max Taylor is currently Chairman of the Mitsui-Sumitomo Insurance London Companies, and a Director of Qatarlyst, formerly known as Qatar Insurance Services. He recently retired as Deputy Chairman of insurance broker Aon UK where he continues to be an advisor. Prior to joining Aon in January 2001, Mr Taylor completed a three-year term as Chairman of Lloyds, the insurance market. He began his broking career with Willis Faber and Dumas in 1970, an association that lasted until his election to Lloyds in 1998. Mr Taylor has held posts as Chairman of the Lloyd's Insurance Brokers' Committee, President of the Insurance Institute of London, Chairman of the European Federation of Intermediary Associations and Chairman of the British Insurance Brokers Association. Among his current roles, he is Chairman of Council of the University of Surrey, and a Director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
