Henny Sender
Chief Correspondent, International Finance
Financial Times 

Henny Sender joined the Financial Times as its International Financial Correspondent in 2007. She is based in New York.

Ms Sender was previously the Wall Street Journal's senior special writer for the Money & Investing section and covered private equity and hedge funds. Before joining the Journal, she worked in Hong Kong for nearly 10 years and covered regional finance for the Wall Street Journal Asia and the Far Eastern Economic Review. Prior to that she was in Tokyo for five years for Institutional Investor.

Ms Sender was part of a team at the Journal that won a Loeb award for coverage of the meltdown of Amaranth, a hedge fund. Her work on the overseas Chinese received a citation from the Overseas Press Club and she was a finalist for the National Magazine Awards. Her book on India, The Kashmiri Pundits, was published by Oxford University Press.
 
Ms Sender holds an MS from the Columbia University School of Journalism. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.



Alex Wittenberg
Managing Partner, Corporate Risk
Oliver Wyman

Alex Wittenberg is the Managing Partner of Oliver Wyman's Corporate Risk practice, with over 20 years of cross-industry experience in risk management advisory and risk transfer solutions. Mr Wittenberg specialises in integrating risk into strategic decision-making and financial performance, designing risk governance for Boards and Management, and developing corporate risk monitoring, mitigation and transfer frameworks. He also advises Board risk and audit committees on risk oversight and strategy. He has developed expertise in manufacturing, oil and gas and life sciences industries. 
 
Mr Wittenberg is Marsh & McLennan's (MMC's) representative to the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the World Economic Forum's Global Risk Network, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He is a leader and technical advisor in joint research and publications with these institutions. He is also frequently quoted in leading publications and is a requested speaker on finance and risk topics.
 
Mr Wittenberg has served as an Advisory Board member for a North American oil and gas company and was previously Managing Director and Practice Leader for Risk Finance, Risk Modeling and Financial Products at Marsh, Inc. He is a graduate in Economics and Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.

 

 

Ronnie Chan
Chairman
Hang Lung Properties Ltd

Ronnie C. Chan is Chairman of Hang Lung Group Ltd and its subsidiary Hang Lung Properties Ltd, both publicly listed in Hong Kong and dealing in property investment, development and management. Hang Lung has been a leader in Hong Kong's property market since 1960, and has been expanding into mainland China since 1992. Following successes in Shanghai, Hang Lung has been investing US$5 billion from 2005 to build 18 world-class commercial complexes in major Chinese cities. Mr Chan also co-founded the privately held Morningside group, which owns and manages businesses in diverse sectors around the world, including manufacturing, public transport, outdoor advertising, media, healthcare and biotechnology. He is actively involved in many non-profit, philanthropic and educational organisations. He is Chairman of the Executive Committees of the One Country Two Systems Research Institute and Better Hong Kong Foundation. He founded and chairs the China Heritage Fund, and is an Advisor to the China Development Research Foundation of China's State Council. Mr Chan is a Vice Chairman of the Asia Society and Chairman of its Hong Kong Centre, a Director of the Board of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Committee on US-China Relations, and the Committee of 100. He is the Founding Chairman Emeritus of the Asia Business Council, and a former member of the governing board of the World Economic Forum. He has served on the governing or advisory bodies of several think tanks and universities.

 

 

 

Lawrence Fok

Lawrence Fok Kwong Man is the Chief Marketing Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. Mr Fok is responsible for persuading new issuers to list in Hong Kong. In addition, he acts as HKEx's ambassador to various constituents on the Chinese Mainland and overseas.

Mr Fok joined the Stock Exchange in 1992 and has over 25 years of experience in financial services and securities regulatory work. Before joining the Stock Exchange he worked for the Securities and Futures Commission and other organisations in corporate finance, securities dealing and venture capital.

 

William Meaney
Chief Executive Officer
The Zuellig Group

William L. Meaney is the Chief Executive Officer of The Zuellig Group (previously known as Interpacific). Zuellig is a US$12 billion diversified pan-Asian group based in Hong Kong, whose primary activities include: pharmaceutical distribution, pharmaceutical manufacturing under license, animal feed manufacturing, agricultural and construction machinery, and real estate.

Prior to his appointment at Zuellig, Mr Meaney worked in a number of turnaround situations, including as Chief Commercial Officer at Swiss International Airlines in Zurich, Executive Vice President at South African Airways in Johannesburg, and Chief Executive Officer of South African Vaccine Producers, a parastatal pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Johannesburg. Prior to taking on leadership roles in international groups, Mr Meaney was based in London as a strategic consultant with Strategic Planning Associates (now part of Oliver Wyman), and in Geneva where he worked in a variety of industries. Mr Meaney also serves on the board of Moksha8, a private pharmaceutical company controlled by TPG. He has a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer in Troy, NY and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Mr Meaney holds both US and Irish nationalities.

 


 

Jing Ulrich

Jing Ulrich is J.P. Morgan's Managing Director and Chairman of China Equities and Commodities. She is leading the expansion of J.P. Morgan's
China equity business both in China and worldwide as well as developing business opportunities that arise from China's demand for commodities.

Educated at Harvard and Stanford Universities, Ms Ulrich is one of the most prominent advisors to the world's largest asset management companies, pension and sovereign wealth funds. She also serves as an advisor to Chinese institutions seeking to invest overseas.

Ms Ulrich has received numerous industry accolades for her work as a China watcher. She was ranked as one of Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Global Businesswomen in September 2009. In 2008, she was named one of Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women in the World. China's Business Watch Magazine listed her among the country's 25 business women elite, and in May 2009, the Chinese journal Contemporary Manager named her one of the top 10 business leaders in China.
