Christophe de Backer

Christophe de Backer joined HSBC France in 1990 where he held several positions notably in the equity markets area, becoming Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CCF Securities in 1998.
In January 2001, he was appointed Senior Corporate Vice-President in charge of Asset Management and Insurance for HSBC France. In September 2005, he was appointed as Chairman of the Executive Board of HSBC Private Bank France.
In September 2007, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Deputy to the Chief Executive Officer in all of his duties. He has been CEO of HSBC France since February 2010.

Jean Beunardeau
Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Head of Global Banking and Markets France

Jean Beunardeau began his career at the Ministry of Finance, mainly at the Treasury. He became Technical Advisor to the Prime Minister in 1995.
He joined HSBC France in 1997 in Corporate Finance and became Managing Director in 2000. He was appointed co-head of CIBM mainly in charge of Corporate and Investment Banking in March 2004. In 2005, he was appointed Senior Corporate Vice-President. In September 2007, he was appointed Head of Global Banking and Markets.
Since 1 February 2010, he has been appointed Deputy CEO and Deputy to the CEO, in addition to his current role as Head of Global Banking and Markets France.

Jacques-Emmanuel Blanchet

Prior to joining HSBC France in 1998 with responsibilities for SME and Corporate strategy, Jacques Emmanuel Blanchet held various managerial positions in other French banks.
Within HSBC, he has held the following positions: Head of Global Transactional Banking in 2001, CEO of HSBC Hervet and UBP in 2004, Head of Operations HSBC France in 2006 and Head of Commercial Banking since 2008.
During his career, he has acquired a large knowledge of Corporate and the SMEs segment in all aspects of relationship with the bank.
Since 2008, he has fully re-organised the Commercial Banking business to bring more expertise, proactivity and experience in developing HSBCs relationship with its customers.

Welber Barral
Secretary of International Trade
Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade, Brazil
Welber Barral is the Secretary of International Trade, Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade for Brazil.
Academic posts he has held include Professor of International Trade Law, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC); Adjunct Professor of International Law/Trade and Development - American University and a visiting lecturer at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (Brazil), Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil), and Universidad de Valencia (Spain).
As a Legal Consultant, he has been advisor to law firms on international trade issues and international contracts. He is a Member of the Corte de Mediação e Arbitragem de Santa Catarina; Câmara de Arbitragem de Minas Gerais; Câmara de Mediação e Arbitragem da Associação Comercial do Paraná.
He was a Member of the Project Selection Committee for the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Tokyo, Japan), July 1998 and July 1999.
Welber Barral's honours list includes the Prêmio Moinho Santista Juventude (2001) - São Paulo State Government/Fundação Bunge; Mención de honor - from the Argentinean Ministry of Economy, for the work Tratamiento de las prácticas de dumping y subvenciones en los procesos de integración (1999).
He was also an Honoured professor in the UFSC Law School Classes of 2001, 2000, and 1996.

Paul Betts

Paul Betts has worked for the Financial Times for the past 34 years spending 28 of them abroad as a correspondent in Rome, Paris, New York and Milan. He is currently based in Paris as a columnist covering international business affairs. He studied at St Catherine's College, Oxford University, graduating with a BA in languages. He later studied Latin American affairs at London University's Institute of Latin American Studies where he received an MA and also briefly lectured. Prior to joining the FT, he worked for five years on The Observer. At the FT he has also spent time as aerospace correspondent, travel editor and deputy editor of FT Weekend.

Dominique Busserau
Secretary of State for Transport
After holding positions in several government cabinets, Dominique Bussereau worked with the commercial department of the SNCF (French railway corporation), then as a consultant with several companies from 1986 to 1993.
His investment in the political life of the territorial division of Charente-Maritime led him to successively hold the positions of Deputy Mayor of Royan, Mayor of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne (1989-2002, re-elected in 2008), General Councillor (since 1985), and Regional Councillor.
In March 2008, he was elected Chairman of the General Council of Charente-Maritime.
He was a member of parliament for Charente-Maritime from 1986 to 1988, then from 1993 to 2002, and was re-elected in 2007.
In a bid to foster the debate on transportation policies, at the end of 1995 Dominique BUSSEREAU set up the association named Avenir Transport, a research, documentation, and debate centre.
Dominique BUSSEREAU became Secretary of State in charge of Transport in May 2002, then Secretary of State in charge of Transport and the Sea from June 2002 to May 2004.
Thereafter, he managed the Secretariat of State in charge of the Budget and Budget Reforms from May 2004 to November 2004.
He was subsequently appointed Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs from November 2004 to June 2005, then Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries from June 2005 to May 2007.
Since May 2007, he has been the Secretary of State in charge of Transport to the Minister of State in charge of the Environment, Energy, Sustainable Development, and Spatial Planning.

Tarek Farahat

Tarek Farahat heads the operations of Procter & Gamble in one of its large subsidiaries, Brazil. Mr Farahat has served the Procter & Gamble company for more than 21 years. He has versatile experience. He served the company in Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, France, Germany, Venezuela and Brazil, in country, regional and global roles. Mr. Farahat is a recognised thought leader and a change agent with a remarkable track record of business and organisational results. Some of his business achievements are documented in a Harvard Business Study, and are being taught in MBA classes. Mr Farahat serves as a Director in United Way Brazil as well as in the Brazilian Arab Chamber of Commerce.
