Michael Mahoney
Pfizer Environment, Health, and Safety Legal Group, Assistant General Counsel EHS - Legal

Mike joined Pfizer in 1988. In 2006 he was promoted to Assistant General Counsel and head of Pfizer's Environment, Health, and Safety Legal Group.  In this position, Mike's key responsibility is to manage and lead the attorneys who counsel Pfizer on worldwide EHS matters. Mike is also jointly responsible with the VP Global EHS Operations for developing EHS strategy for the Company.

Mike was responsible for launching Pfizer's Energy and Climate Change Program in 2000 and has been involved in its development since then. Mike is currently a member of Pfizer's Energy and Climate Change Programs Steering Council and in that role provides strategic advice on the program's direction and objectives. Mike started Pfizer's technical Air Network Team in 2006, which assists Pfizer sites globally with compliance with the regulations and law and subsequently, improving implementation of specific air programs throughout the organization.
 
Prior to joining Pfizer's Legal Division, Mike worked as an environmental engineer in Pfizer's Global Engineering Group and led a number of important technical programs and projects.
 
He has served two terms as Chair of PhRMA's Air Work Group and successfully led PhRMA's legal challenge of USEPA's rules for the control of hazardous air pollutants from pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
 
 
Education:
Mike earned his J.D. from Fordham University. He also has an MS in Environmental Engineering and a BS in Biology, both from Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY.
