Dr. Supratik Guha
Lead Scientist for Photovoltaics, Senior Manager, Semiconductor Materials and Devices, Physical Sciences Department, IBM Research

Supratik Guha is a Senior Manager in the Physical Sciences Department at IBM Research, where he has been since 1995. His current responsibilities include developing IBMs R&D program in photovoltaics.  His research interests are in the areas of new semiconductors and oxides for electronic and energy conversion applications. In the past he has been responsible for programs related to IBM's silicon technologies, and was responsible for some of the key materials advances in IBM's high k metal gate CMOS technology.  He is the author of over 90 publications and has 31 patents.  Supratik  is also currently an adjunct professor of materials science at Columbia University.  From 1992-95, he worked at the 3M Corporate Research Labs in the II-VI semiconductor laser group.  He received his Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Southern California in 1991, and a B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 1985.
