Richard Sandor

Richard Sandor is Chairman of Climate Exchange Plc, parent company of Chicago Climate Exchange and European Climate Exchange. He is a research professor at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a member of the International Advisory Council of the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. In the early 1970s, as chief economist of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), he earned a reputation as the principal architect of the interest rate futures market. The City of Chicago and the CBOT honoured him for his contribution to the creation of financial futures leading to his universal recognition as the "Father of Financial Futures." Time twice honored him as one of its "Heroes of the Environment" and one of its "Heroes for the Planet." Treasury and Risk Management named him as one of the "100 Most Influential People in Finance," and he was honored with the 2008 Financial Management Association Outstanding Financial Executive Award.
