Steve Lippman
Director of Environmental Engagement, Microsoft
Steve Lippman has 15 years experience addressing environmental and corporate social responsibility issues for a broad set of companies and non-governmental organizations. Since 2008, Steve is Director of Environmental Sustainability at Microsoft, serving on the company’s corporate Environmental Sustainability strategy team and leading Microsoft’s engagements with environmental NGOs and policymakers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Steve spent five years as Vice President of Social Research and Advocacy at Trillium Asset Management, a twenty-five-year old socially responsible investment firm. Previously, Steve spent four years in the Environment Program at Business for Social Responsibility, a global business membership organization that helps companies implement socially responsible business practices. He has also consulted and done volunteer work for a range of nonprofit organizations, including the Ford Foundation, Environmental Defense, and Friends of the Earth. Steve earned his bachelors degree from Stanford University and an M.S. in Natural Resource and Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment.
