Brian Rice
Investment Officer, Corporate Governance, CalSTRS
Mr. Rice is the lead Investment Officer in the CalSTRS Corporate Governance Department and has been working in the governance group at CalSTRS for almost seven years. His main areas of focus at CalSTRS are the corporate engagement program (on issues such as sustainability risk management, corporate governance structure, and executive compensation best practices) and managing the CalSTRS activist manager portfolio. Mr. Rice is also actively involved in proxy voting, the CalSTRS focus list, and engagement with organizations such as the NYSE and the SEC. Mr. Rice has an MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's degree in Economics/Business from UCLA.
