Mike Wallace, Director Sustainability Reporting Framework, has almost 20-years experience advising corporations, governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that seeking to develop sustainability initiatives. His experience enables him to integrate an exceptional understanding of environmental, social & governance issues with proven management consulting expertise.
Mike is responsible for the GRIs Sustainability Reporting Framework (SuRF), which represents the principal vehicle for the pursuit of the GRIs mission. He also manages the GRIs SuRF Team, which is charged with maintaining the integrity and the development of the SuRF. He is a member of GRIs Senior Management Team and represents the GRI externally to various institutions with regards to the application and development of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework specifically, and the development of sustainability reporting in general.
Mr. Wallace spent the first half of his career focused on performing environmental due diligence for corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Mr. Wallaces international experience in the area of environmental assessment, measurement and quantification enables him to provide specialized guidance to organizations as they develop a sustainability strategy. He has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies on the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives. He has authored articles on sustainability, corporate social responsibility and corporate environmental performance. He is a participant in international working groups on these subjects and speaks regularly on the topics of sustainability measurement, reporting and management.
