Investing in a New Energy Future

The world faces two major energy challenges - ensuring a secure supply of fuel and electricity for future generations and reversing the course of global warming. Both involve lowering our dependence on fossil fuels and developing alternative, low-carbon solutions. However, as policy-makers debate the best way to encourage energy efficiency, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the adoption of renewable and clean energy technologies, it is clear that progress will depend not just on governments but also on private sector financing and investment, with support from the capital markets.
