Singapore Bureau Chief, Financial Times
John Burton was appointed Singapore Bureau Chief for the Financial Times in 2001. He joined the Financial Times in 1989 as Stockholm Correspondent and spent 10 years as the newspapers Korea Correspondent. Prior to joining the Financial Times, Mr Burton worked as a journalist in Tokyo and Washington. He studied at George Washington University in Washington, and his BA major was in East Asian Studies.
