Alan Schiffman is a Partner and Head of the firms Asia Energy, Infrastructure & Project Finance Group and co-heads Skadden's Asia-Pacific offices. He concentrates on project development and finance throughout Asia, representing sponsors, investors and financial institutions in matters relating primarily to the development, investment and financing of energy, power, oil and gas, infrastructure, gaming, entertainment, sports and industrial projects, as well as asset and equity acquisitions and divestitures, financial restructurings and leveraged acquisitions. Mr Schiffman has also advised other major players in these types of transactions, including construction contractors, equity investors (including private equity), off-takers and energy consumers. Mr Schiffman has done significant work on projects and transactions in China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Colombia, Peru, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India, as well as projects throughout the U.S. Mr Schiffman has been listed as a leading lawyer in The International Whos Who of Oil & Gas Lawyers, in Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Energy and Natural Resources Lawyers, and in Asia Pacific Legal 500 for Projects. He received a B.A. from Trinity College, Connecticut and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is admitted to the Bar in the District of Columbia and in New York.
