Sharad Somani

Sharad Somani leads the infrastructure practice of KPMG focusing on the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern region. He specialises in public-private partnership advisory and project finance. He has advised clients across infrastructure sectors including broadband, energy, transportation, urban/industrial infrastructure, and water. His experience includes bid advisory, business planning, financial structuring and modeling, contract structuring, regulatory advisory, risk mitigation, project appraisal, fund syndication and negotiation support on project financing. Some of the key recent projects that Mr Somani has been associated with include the Next Generation Broadband Project, the Changi NEWater PPP and the Senoko incineration plant in Singapore; electricity sector privatisation in Vietnam; the Economic City and integrated water and power plant (IWPP) projects in Saudi Arabia; and a LNG-based integrated power project in South Africa. He has also been associated with numerous infrastructure projects in South Asia including independent power producers (IPPs) in India and Bangladesh. Before joining KPMG, Mr Somani worked with a global power project developer and an investment bank.
