Brazil Bureau Chief, Financial Times
Joseph Leahy is Brazil bureau chief for the Financial Times, based in São Paulo. Previously, he served as the FTs Mumbai correspondent, as well as Asia companies editor and Hong Kong correspondent.
Before joining the Financial Times in 2000, Mr Leahy was the Jakarta bureau chief for AFX and also worked for the South China Morning Post as a subeditor and then as Indonesia correspondent.
Mr Leahy jointly won the 2006 Society of Publishers in Asia (SoPA) business reporting award and The Scoop Award for his reporting on China National Offshore Oils bid for Unocal.
Mr Leahy is fluent in Indonesian.
