Overview
A booming Middle East, buoyed by rising oil and commodity prices, is accumulating wealth on an unprecedented scale. Some of that money is being invested domestically, but much of it is being recycled into overseas assets and still, primarily, into dollar-based ones. What are the implications for US bond and equity markets and the dollar? Can US asset managers tap into this new pool of liquidity and what is the best way to do this? Or will we see growing competition for traditional, western fund managers from a raft of new Middle East Sovereign Wealth Funds?
