Monika Weber-Fahr serves as the Business Line Leader for Environmental and Social Sustainability projects in IFC and manages IFC's Sustainability Business Innovator (SBI) Division.
In those roles, Monika determines strategy for the portfolio of concessional investments and AS operations, and is responsible for IFC-wide quality assurance, knowledge management and cross-regional collaboration in the areas of climate change, social capital and biodiversity. SBI's work includes global initiatives as well as collaborative projects undertaken jointly with IFC's regional AS teams. As IFC's Business Line Leader for advisory projects, Monika promotes the pursuit of market transformations and firm-level advice such as clean production that both reduces the cost for a particular firm and creates a demonstration effect for the market.
Over the past 15 years, Ms. Weber-Fahr has worked in strategy development, innovation and organizational change in IFC, the World Bank and in BCG strategy consulting, often with a focus on energy-related topics. She holds an MSc and a PhD in Business Economics.
